The rancorous political atmosphere and crossfires that characterised the Aniocha South PDP prelude to the primary has been laid to rest as Pst Jude Chukwunwike was affirmed the party’s candidate, ahead of the local government election on July 13th, this year.
In a consensus primary held at the party’s Secretariat in Ogwashi Uku on Saturday, May 25th and witnessed by the DSIEC officials, party hierarchy, security agents and other critical stakeholders, the returning officer from the state, Hon Freedom Eghagha while declaring Pst Jude as the PDP Candidate for Aniocha South, described the local government election in the country as the most critical because of how it affects the people at the grassroots.
In his response, the chairmanship candidate of the PDP, Pst Jude Chukwunwike said that his second coming to the council was to give youths and women of the council a renewed sense of hope and help create more opportunity for collective prosperity of the people of the local government, adding that under his watch, youths restiveness and other related crimes in the council will be a thing of the past as he will work assiduously to restore hope in the people and help them to achieve a more meaningful life.
Hon JC promised to run a government of inclusiveness that will involve the political, religious and traditional leaders and the people in taking major decisions of the council.
He promised to build his government around the area of the welfare of the people, noting that before you deal with any problem you must first have a good understanding of it.
While congratulating the winner of the primary, one of the foremost chairmanship aspirants, Bishop Brian said he would align and contribute his quota towards the success of Pst Jude Chukwunwike’s administration for the common good of Aniocha South.
Jude Chukwunwike and Amaka Adigwe of the PDP will have candidates of other political parties to contend with on July 13th, 2024.
