The Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC Women Committee of Delta State Council, is set to celebrate Her Royal Majesty, Obi Martha Dunkwu (Omu Okpanam/Omu Anioma and Nneoha) during the International Women’s Day, slated for celebration at the Labour House, Asaba, on 16th March, 2022.

It is a known fact that the International Women’s Day is celebrated annually on every 8th of March as one of the ILO Conventions wherein issues affecting women are discussed and women who have distinguished themselves in different spheres of life are recognised and decorated as pacesetters.

In a statement signed by the Chairperson of NLC Women Committee, Delta State Branch, Comrade (Mrs) Ann Umunna; Omu Anioma was eulogized for her sterling leadership qualities and consistency in the defence of Women’s rights and dignity.

The statement read in part, “The Delta State Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC Women Committee has considered it judicious and necessary to invite you to this year’s International Women’s Day celebration, as you have contributed immensely to the growth and development of women in Delta State and beyond.

“The Committee will be highly pleased to have a personality like you, considering the fact that women in Delta State see you as their role model”.

Omu Dunkwu will be given the platform to give her goodwill message on the theme: Break The ‘Bias’, Imagine: A Gender Equal World.
